Jan 12, 2021 · For over 10 years, from the minute I woke up in post-op after TVH, I have used the Vivelle Dot hormone patch (Novartis brand name). This week my new insurance filled it with the Sandoz authorized generic estradiol patch. I tried it for the first time 2 days ago and have had hot flashes (in middle of freezing winter temps!!) the past 2 nights. Satisfaction. I began the vivelle-dot at the lowest dosage 2 month ago to help with the symptoms of perimenopause (age 47). I've found that my hot flash symptoms, memory, as well as my overall mood have significantly improved. I still get tired throughout the day, but also have an underactive thyroid that can cause tiredness. These side effects may include: Headaches. Nausea. Bloating or diarrhea. Breast tenderness.
