How the heck do Staves work in PF2E? Discussion. The rules for how staves work, as written in the rulebook, are very poorly worded. Almost all of my confusion stems from their constant use of the term "spell list". That is not a term I'm familiar with, and it's unclear what that means. What's a spell list? It's just a list of spells.You spin your staff with a twirling flourish, attacking two foes and transforming the momentum into magical energy to charge for your next Spellstrike.
